Funeral For Paul Dixon Sr.

We were so sorry to see the passing of our dear friend and fellow brother in Christ, Paul Dixon Sr.  He has been promoted to heaven and God has released him from his suffering.
Funeral services were held today at the Henderson Church of Christ in Christian Union, Monday September 12, 2011 at 1:00pm with graveside service following.  There was a delicious meal served in the Fellowship Hall afterwards.
Brad Dixon and Pastor Jonathan Roberts were both speakers at the funeral.  Brad did a wonderful job preaching the funeral message and we appreciated the thoughts he shared about the hope we can all have of seeing Paul again someday.  Janet Dixon, Bess Sterling and Karen sang a lovely special Baulah Land.  At the end of the service Rev. and Mrs. Votial sang Will the Circle Be Unbroken.
Paul Dixon was a faithful member of our church for many years and has blessed the lives of everyone he knew.  He will be greatly missed, just as he was greatly loved.

  God saw you getting tired
And the cure was not meant to be.
So He put his arms around you
And whispered, "Come to me,"
With tearful eyes we watched you,
And saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts
To prove to us,
He only takes the best.

Small Church Doesn't Mean Small God

Being a small church can sometime's give a  negative impression.  Just because we are small, it doesn't mean our God is.  We often think of all the "small" things and people God used throughout the Bible.  He used David, a young, inexperienced shepherd boy to teach a nation about faith.  He used Mary, a young and innocent girl to bare His precious Son, who it just so happens to have  entered the world as a "small" baby.  He used a "small" boy in the miracle of the loaves and fishes, yes God indeed uses "small" things!
